Have some new game info about T.S.

Civilian buildings have 2 frames, health and damaged
GDI and NOD buildings have 3 frames, health, damaged, and inoperable.
The buildings will have construction animations instead of just popping up.
Not all civilian/forgotten buildings are just decoration. There are some mission specific buildings that are actually a part of the     mission.
Another neat effect in Tiberian Sun is "Alpha Channel Effects". That is a shape that adds or subtracts light. For example, the closer    you get to a crashed alien ship the darker it gets. Another example is the lens flare on the light posts.
One of the NOD missionīs (possibly the first) revolves around a fallen alien spacecraft. (This isnīt new info.)
In a later GDI mission, NOD is flying the alien spacecraft(Banshee) and itīs knocked down in an Ion storm. It then becomes your job     to go and intercept them.

Thanks to StrategyCentral for the new info.

Visited a new T.S site last night called TiberianZone and found a interview by Tiberius with RADE at Westwood.

Tiberius: Good Afternoon Mr.Rade.
Rade: It's late evening over here but good afternoon to you.
Tiberius: How are you? Busy with Tiberian Sun?
Rade: Yes, very very busy, which is why you hardly see me on the ICQ anymore.
Tiberius:Hope we can get started. The official Tiberian Sun www.tiberiansun.com is now featuring info about GDI. What about NOD?
Rade: NOD's stuffs should be coming on-line real soon. I just worked on a bunch of images for the marketing guys.
Tiberius: That's cool. How about naval units, Mr.Rade? Will there be any naval units in Tiberian Sun?
Rade: No, no naval units.
Tiberius: Is it because it may affect the game balance?
Rade: That's one of the reasons. Most of the missions take place in land, so a navy wouldn't make much sense. The main reason is because of the way it would segment on the game. One player would build a huge navy, another would build a huge ground force. The resulting battle woudn't be very fun.
Tiberius: At the E3 demo, at one point there was rocks falling down the cliff where a harvester was harvesting. Is this some kind of disaster or land slide?
Rade: That would be the debris from our particle system. We have a physic model in the game so that debris would bounce off of objects, roll down hill, etc.
Tiberius: It looks more like rocks. Will explosion cause rocks to break?
Rade: No, you can't break rocks. You can blow up buildings, vehicles and bridges and debris fly out and damage nearby units.
Tiberius: What about the NOD Banshee? Does it have to reload like oracs? If yes, does it uses the helipad?
Rade: Can't comment on the Banshee's weapons yet. We'll release more infomation about it, including a video clip soon.
Tiberius: Video Clip on Banshee. Where can we obtain it?
Rade: I have to finish it first. We'll post it at www.tiberiansun.com.
Tiberius: That's good news. How about disasters? Is there only Ion Storm?
Rade: Ion storms and meteor showers.
Tiberius: What about other like volcanos in some of the scenario. Will there be volcano eruption?
Rade: No volcano eruptions.
Tiberius: Will the NOD's apache be back?
Rade: Yes, it is a NOD unit.
Tiberius: How about the field mechanics? Isn't it an advantage they could repair vehicles on the battlefield?
Rade: It is balanced.
Tiberius: Rade, the mammoths are back on request. Any idea which side will have the Mamoth Mark II?
Rade: Yes, back by popular demand, and yes, we have an idea which side should have.
Tiberius: Will it be for the forgottens as it is indeed a very old unit?
Rade: We will release more infomation about it in time.
Tiberius: How about the GDI's Advanced Communication Center? Can a single Communication Center be upgraded to all 3 control center: hunter seeker droid, threat assessment and Ion Cannon?
Rade: No, the Communication Center can only accept 2 upgrades at any given time. So, you can upgrade 1 communication center with 2 upgrades and a another for the other control center.
Tiberius: That's all Mr.Rade and good night.

The weekend just flew by.. But iīm back with some news. Visited GAMESTAR MAGAZINE and found a new interview by them with Erik Yeo at Westwood. One gets alot more confused....

GameStar: More and more modern Strategy-games use 3D-cards. Do you also have plans like that for T.S??
Erik Yeo: No. AGP and MMX Technology will increase the performance. Itīs not necessary shelling out much money for a 3D-card, our Voxel-Technology is awesome.
GameStar: Are some of the new things in T.S based on suggestions made by fans?
Erik Yeo: Indirectly. Some of them wanted to have infantry-units that are able to climb steep cliffs and precipice. That inspired me to introduce the jumpjet-infantry. They can jump over obstacles using their jetpack. Besides, the popular Mammoth-tank returned because many gamers wanted to have it, even though we had not planned to use it at the beginning.
GameStar: We have been told that the technology of NOD scrin-fighter is from extraterrestial lifeforms. Is Kane being controlled by the aliens??
Erik Yeo: I canīt say anything about that without telling half the story. Letīs say it this way: Aliens will make an appearance...

Here you have a picture of Erik:

Visited a new T.S site last night called TSCOMMAND and found a new interview by Four Ages with Erik at Westwood. I have translated the interview to english from swedish so there might be some small differencies.

Four Ages: Will "Sam sites" be underground like C&C or will they be above ground like Red Alert. They are alot cooler when they pop up.
Erik Yeo: I agree that they are alot cooler when they pop up from underground. But because the arial units are so fast in T.S they will easily fly by before the "Sam site" have popped up.
Four Ages: Can one save in skirmish or network games?
Erik Yeo: Hopefully. To save skirmish games wonīt be any problem, though network games is more difficult.
Four Ages: Will there be only large cities in T.S or will there be smaller villages like in C&C and Red Alert?
Erik Yeo: There will be different sizes of the cities in T.S. One mission will even take place near Stockholm!
Four Ages: Are the civilian cars going to move around in the cities, or will they also stand still.
Erik Yeo: It depends on the mission.
Four Ages: In C&C you didnīt see any smoke during any fire only after it stoppped burning. Will that be any different in T.S?
Erik Yeo: Yes, the new "partical smoke" looks very cool.
Four Ages: When one is repairing a bridge, will that be animated or will the bridge just pop out of nowhere when finished?.
Erik Yeo: We are still trying different ways to animate the bridge constructing, but iīm not sure how it will work

More to come.....

I was over this weekend at RSN and saw a interview with a guy named NOVA that interviewed Erik at Westwood.
Hereīs the interview:

Nova: The orca bomber.. Rade has said it will only have one type of bomb. That's only one _type_ of bomb, though, right? When you use it, it will drop more than one of those bombs in one go, won't it?
Erik: Correct. One type, but it drops five in a row per bombing run. The third bomb hits the location you targeted. Kinda like carpet bombing. It's pretty cool.
Nova: OK. And is the airstrike from C&C back or is it just the ORCAs this time around?
Erik: I figured being able to control them was enough. :)
Nova: Okay, then, so I'll take that as a no on the airstrikes. :) That means GDI only has the Ion Cannon as a special weapon (unless there's something you're not telling us about GDI special weapons, which there probably is :)
Erik: Me? Not tell you guys something? Never...

And here's something I asked him a few weeks ago:

Hypertank: About the Orca Bomber.. are the bombs still of napalm type similar to RA?
Erik: The bombs are fire based, but not like RA's.

More to come........

Got a mail today from The Commander  that said that there will be units that getīs better and better based upon how much experience in combat they have had. So if a infantry unit take out a tank then they will get some experience points that will make them better and more smart. And like the infantry units they will know when to withdraw if the are under fire or have a larger enemy than themselves. Thanx for the info.

Tiberian Sun will have a special organism that will appear on some maps. The "organism" called The central Creature. The "organism" is supposed to be in the tiberian field. This creature is supposed to produce toxic gas that will fly around the the map and infect different playerīs. This might be something to keep a lookout for.  But my friendīs there are something to help you come over that fear....(coming up later).
And there will also be some old ruins from C&C buildings and Redalert constructions. Could be pretty cool.

By the way....Congratulations to TIBERIUMSUN.COM on their 1 Year celebration.
