Emmerdale was also voted Best Album of ´94, by the readers of the Swedish music magazine "Slitz".
Peter Svensson said in an interview that Emmerdale was a really independent record. They did exactly the kind of music that they wanted to do.

Their second album "Life", was released in 1995. Life became an international success and sold 1.5 million copies. The single "Carnival" became No 1 in Japan, Iceland and Mexico.
Peter Svensson said in a TV-interview 1998 that he thinks Life is a pretty boring record, but still nice in its own kind of way.

The third album "First Band on the Moon" was released in September 1996. After only seven days the album had sold 300,000 copies in Japan.
The song "Lovefool", became part of the soundtrack for the film "Romeo and Juliet" and The Cardigans were now popstars in the USA.
