046 Blackout

Lightning triggers a massive blackout. As Gary frantically juggles running McGinty's bar and averting disaster, he gets some unexpected assistance from Marissa. Also helping out is an amiable, slightly eccentric new bartender named Patrick. Meanwhile, a convenience-store owner finds his differences with his neighbors escalating to a potential riot during the blackout.


047 Collision

While trying to locate the driver responsible for a potentially deadly multiple car pile-up, Gary reads about another tragedy about to befall Henry Paget, the adventurous 9-year-old. While he contemplates which disaster to avert first, Gary's life becomes even more complicated when Henry's mom, Erica, interviews to become the bar's manager and resents Gary's involvement in her son's life.


048 A Horse is a Horse

A lonely Henry stumbles onto the newspaper and uses it to make new friends at school. But later, Henry uses horse racing results from the paper's sports section to help his estranged, gambling-obsessed father win big at the track. This leads to complications when it puts Henry in danger, and Gary's got to save the day!


049 Lieutenant Hobson, US Navy

Gary goes undercover as a Lieutenant in the navy in an attempt to prevent a deadly explosion, but is forced into keeping up the charade when he's asked to escort an admiral's daughter to a dance. But when Gary unexpectedly winds up in jail, it's up to Henry to use the paper to avert a diplomatic mishap!


050 Saint Nick

When a new doctor in the neighborhood takes an interest in Erica Paget, Gary is forced to reassess his relationship with her.


051 Halloween

A kindly old woman buys spoiled apples and when Gary reads about it, he tries to cancel the holiday due to the poisoned candy. He refuses to let Henry Paget got out for the night. But when the Cat turns black and a spooky guy keeps turning up whereever Gary goes, things begin to get out of hand!


052 Up Chuck

A financially strapped Chuck returns with a crazy scheme to exploit Gary's newspaper heroics. Things turn sour and Gary ends up on the set of the Jerry Springer Show.


053 Deadline

(Formerly called "Execution")

Gary's attempt to save a man on death row leads him to uncover more of the paper's history, including that of Gary's predecessor, Lucious Snow.


054 In Gary We Trust

Gary's blossoming romance with Erica may be nipped in the bud after he witnesses a mob shooting and enters a witness protection program.


055 Nest Egg

A suprise visit by Gary's mother is enough of a shock, but matters worsen when he reads she may be the killer of a suspected con-man.


056 Teen Angels

After the newspaper arrives in tatters, Gary poses as a substitute teacher to learn who will be involved in a school shooting.


057 Skippity-Do-Dah

Gary's efforts to prevent a woman's icy slide result in something mush worse, and Henry tags along as Gary stops the day's tragedies.


058 The Last Untouchable

A retired treasury agent believes that Al Capone's last living henchman can lead him to the mobster's long-lost fortune.
