I came to Sweden on a youth exchange programme organised by the International Christian Youth Exchange(ICYE). After my exchange year in Sweden I went to England for further studies.  I returned to Sweden in 1987. I have been an employee of Volvo Corporation since 1988.

I have a great interest in voluntary organisations and I have for the greater part of my life been active in working for such organisations. I have occupied leadership positions at various levels from my school days through University. In 1993, I was a founding member and the first President of the Ghana Union of Gothenburg. I took the initiative in starting the Centre for African Relations(CARE), an organisation that promotes the welfare of Africans in Sweden and contributes to the enhancement of relations between Sweden and Africa in a number of areas including marketing and business. Today, CARE is a registered company in Sweden offering consultancy services in Accounting and Information Technology. In October 1988, I was nominated to represent the Gothenburg branch of Save the Children on the Executive board of the Gothenburg Centre for Voluntary Organisations(Goteborg Frivillig Centre, in Swedish), an umbrella orgnisation for local Non Governmental Organisations(NGOs) in Gothenburg(currently a total number of 69 organisations). In May 1999, I was elected chairman of the Centre for Voluntary Organistions.
