Hi there all you crazy begheads!
|
|
We know it's been quite long since we posted anything
here on the website, but everybody has been
|
|
taking some time off Spiritual Beggars since the European
tour ended in Stockholm on November
|
|
the 11th. . We've all been keeping busy though with
other musical projects, I (Michael) recorded a
|
|
new Arch Enemy album in December, Ludwig's been rehearsing
with Firebird in London - preparing
|
|
for a 2nd album, Spice has got the Mushroom River
Band album out, and a newborn son at home,
|
|
Per has been touring as a session musician and preparing
for the debut album of his Mojobone band...
|
|
So all in all, it's not like we've been totally lazy!
The past year has been really intense for Spiritual
|
|
Beggars with a lot of touring
and activities of all sorts...one of the highlights was obviously touring
|
|
with Iron Maiden in Europe..never thought we'd be
playing our stuff in arenas! (but it worked, haha!).
|
|
We also did shows with Monster Magnet, Queens Of The
Stoneage, King's X..all great bands with
|
|
great people (thanks for letting us steal your audience,
haha...only kidding!)
|
|
...we also had a cool summer
with all the European festivals that were great (The combination of
|
|
sunshine, party and rock'n'roll - quite difficult
to mess things up, eh?)..I also have to mention our
|
|
first tour of Japan, which was very enjoyable indeed!
(A BIG THANKS to all the Japanese begheads
|
|
for making us feel so welcome!!).
|
|
The headline tour of Europe that we did in October/November
was really killer too..to see so many
|
|
people come out just to see Spiritual Beggars was
an experience!!
|
|
(And Athens, Greece...my gooood - you girls and boys
RULE!!!) We are truly grateful!
|
|
So to every single one of you who came out and watched
the show and got sweaty with us
|
|
..and everyone who picked up the "AD ASTRA" album
or kept checking out this site - We'd like

The Beggars hit the road again...starting
next month is the second leg of "The chasing the stars"
|
|
tour across Europe... The dates and
venues are confirmed and can be found in the "Gigs" section.

Spiritual
Beggars back catalogue remastered and improved for Japan! The 2 albums
that pre-date
|
|
the current "Ad Astra" album, "Another
way to shine" (1996) and "Mantra III" (1998) have been
|
|
have been re-released by JVC in Japan
on the 23rd of August. These editions have been
|
|
re-mastered and re-packaged with
new improved graphics and layout material all supervised by
|
|
the band themselves. Both albums
feature bonus tracks and different tracklisting, and in some
|
|
cases different mixes from when they
were originally released. (For more details check the
|
|
"works" section.) Guitarplayer
Michael Amott says;
|
|
"I am very happy with these re-issues,
this is actaully the first time that these albums come out
|
|
the way that we, the band, always
intended...this time around we got the tracklisting and mixes
|
|
of tracks that we always wanted on
the albums...and the right cover art etc."

Spiritual Beggars hope to get these
versions released in Europe too through the Music for
|
|
Nations label sometime in the near
future.

Wacken Festival, The Beggars are now back home in Sweden

recharging their batteries for the

some time off after the Wacken Open Air show. The main reason

for this being that Spice is going

been playing in Portugal and Spain the last

couple of days. Allthough it's a hard life on the
road, there are sometimes a couple of days off

in the schedule to relax and enjoy the surroundings.

and Spain...As the always so "full of words"

days off at the moment, Portugal is up next

"Chasin tour" schedule, the gig in Essen on the 9th of July
has been

moved to Oberhausen at the Oberhausen
Arena. Also appearing along with The Beggars in

Oberhausen, are Motorhead, Slayer
and Dream Theatre. Entombed have joined the bill on the gigs in
|
|
Portugal and Spain, check out

Just one days rest for The Beggars, on Saturday they
hit The Roskilde Festival in Denmark with a gig.
|
|
From there on it's straight down across Europe, this
time supporting Iron Maiden on their Metal 2000
|
|
tour. Added a couple of Vidcaps
in the Pics section, just to give you a peek of "The Chasin tour"...
